A new crowdfunding campaign is aiming to show that "Nagoya is not boring!" Let's take a look at one of Japan's most amazing travel destinations.

Nagoya is Japan’s fourth most populous city, and has long been known as a hub of industry and technology. In addition to being the birthplace of Toyota, the home of Japan’s largest seaport, and the site of the annual World Cosplay Summit, the Nagoya region is home to rich history and beautiful nature, and a treasure trove of traditional Japanese arts, crafts, and delicious foods.
Nagoya is a well-rounded destination, where travelers can experience many facets of Japan in a single location—but without the crowds you often find in better-known cities like Tokyo and Osaka. In many ways, Nagoya is one of Japan’s best-kept travel secrets.
However, with your help, the new experience booking platform Nagoya Is Not Boring will finally make Nagoya’s exciting culture, food, and history accessible to the world!

Journalists Elly and Lena came to Japan separately from overseas; when they met in 2019, they realized that they shared a passion for Nagoya, and for helping other travelers experience all the fantastic experiences the city has to offer. They joined forces to create Nagoya Is Not Boring—a new experience booking platform that helps visitors and foreign residents in Japan book special travel experiences and tours via an easily accessible, online process.
The platform derives its name from a remark stating that Nagoya is “the most boring city in Japan”—a saying that Elly and Lena—and Nagoya Is Not Boring—are going to disprove!
Elly and Lena worked hard to build a website, recruit tour and cultural activity hosts, and launch Nagoya Is Not Boring in early 2020, just as the COVID-19 pandemic struck. Now, they are continuing their efforts, preparing to welcome travelers to Nagoya as soon as Japan reopens for tourism.
That’s where your help comes in! Through the Japan Tomorrow project titled Nagoya Is Not Boring hopes to obtain support to continue promoting Nagoya, inspiring you, their future guest, to learn about this important region, and to offer some amazing English, language experiences to contributors—available as rewards that you can enjoy both before and after Japan reopens for international travel.

Contributors to the Nagoya Is Not Boring campaign will provide important support for NAGOYA IS NOT BORING, helping the company continue to spread the word about Nagoya and create unforgettable experiences for visitors to enjoy.
As a reward for your contribution, you can receive unique opportunities to experience the food and culture of Nagoya, either online or in person (after travel resumes).
Rewards range from an online cultural experience to in-person cooking classes, sake tours, and even a custom, fully guided, day-long tour designed to introduce you to Nagoya’s unique sights, food, and culture!

Through Nagoya Is Not Boring, Elly and Lena hope to expand appreciation for Nagoya’s unique food, culture, and history, and to offer tours that introduce foreign guests to this unique and important region of Japan.
Through this campaign, you can help Elly and Lena’s new tour booking platform, and experience a taste of Nagoya too!
