The Umeda district near JR Osaka Station is the largest transport terminal district in Western Japan. A large-scale redevelopment project has taken place here in recent years. The creation of an environment filled with water and nature is one aspect central to this urban development.

Osaka Station City and Grand Front Osaka, which respectively opened in 2011 and 2013, have created spaces in consideration of the environment. These rooftop gardens are filled with flowers and greenery and are quite spacious despite being within a building. They will show you a refreshing scenery that will make you forget the occasional messiness of Osaka.

These gardens are perfect to visit when you’re tired from walking while shopping, when you begin to want to take a little break in a green area, and when you want to see the sunset or night view in the city with a refreshing breeze. Entry into these healing areas surrounded by nature is, of course, entirely free.
