Hiroshima prefecture gathers visitors from all over the world, the same as Tokyo and Kyoto. Most of the visitors embrace the image of "Hiroshima as the place with cultural heritage sites such as the Atomic Bomb Dome and Itsukushima Shrine".

Few people would think of "Hiroshima is a place to go shopping". However, Hiroshima is one of the places where you can enjoy shopping as much as in Tokyo and Osaka.

Hiroshima PARCO - A 10 Minute Walk From The A-Bomb Dome

Hiroshima PARCO is a shopping mall located at the east edge of Hondōri Avenue, which is the main street of Hiroshima. The Atomic Bomb Dome is located at the west edge of this street which makes it easy to reach after visiting the Dome.

Nearby Hiroshima PARCO there is the Okonomi-mura, where many Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki stores are found, as well as a Don Quijote shop, where one can find many reasonably priced goods and snacks. If you stroll around the area where PARCO is located, you will be able to try Hiroshima food and find souvenirs.

Hiroshima PARCO has two wings - a main wing with ten floors and a new wing with nine floors. You will find here the latest fashion stores, item stores and cafes.

nana's green tea, located on 8th floor is a cafe whose theme is  "Japanese". They offer matcha green tea sweets, as well as other sweets made though traditional Japanese confectionery methods.

Its interior concept is "Modern tearoom", allowing customers to fully enjoy the elegance of a Japanese-style cafe.

The most popular dish is "Matcha shiratama parfait" (853 yen with tax) which is made with Uji matcha tea from Kyoto. It is a great combination between the beauty of the parfait and the elegance of Japanese sweets.

A parfait glass filled with matcha flavored syrup, pudding and ice cream will be a great treat at any time of the year.

The picture above shows shiratama which is made from mochi rice. Kneaded rice powder is made into a ball shape. This small round sweet with a slippery and sticky texture, is the standard ingredient in many Japanese sweets.
