PARCO is a popular Japanese fashion mall located in major cities of Japan such as Shibuya, Ikebukuro, Sapporo, Nagoya and others. They are known to carry the latest styles and trends in fashion among the Japanese. Today, we would like to introduce to you Fukuoka PARCO, located in Fukuoka, a city popular among many visitors from abroad.

What Is Fukuoka PARCO?

Fukuoka PARCO is a large fashion mall separated into the main building (B1 Floor - 8th Floor) and the annex (B2 Floor to 6th Floor). Aside from clothes, there are plenty of shops selling anime merchandise, food, and souvenirs that many visitors seek. The building itself is conveniently connected to the Seibu Fukuoka (Tenjin) Station and the bus terminal. It is right in the heart of the Tenjin area and is in a great location for visitors to Japan who love to shop. In this article, we would like to introduce you to some shops inside Fukuoka PARCO that we highly recommend to visitors to Japan.

Nikusai Park MEAT Land

From beef, pork and chicken, you can find all types of meat at Nikusai Park Meatland - Nikuarashi. This restaurant located on the B1 floor of Fukuoka PARCO's main building is not only popular among the Japanese, but on certain days the shop may have more visitors from outside of Japan seeking various type of meat.

The dish popular among many customers from overseas is the "beef cutlet meal" (1,300 yen). It is a juicy piece of Japanese beef that is coated with a thin crust. The crispy crust that has been fried has pepper on it to bring out the great flavor of the red meat.

You can enjoy the cutlet with either wasabi, soy sauce or the onion flavored Japonais sauce.

On the metal plate, there is a heated stone to cook the rare meat to the right tenderness of your choice. Also, if the meat gets cold, you can reheat the meat right on the stone.

A unique dish that can only be found in Meatland is this "Hakata kae-burg meal" (1,200 yen). Savor the flavorful hamburg steak which uses Fukuoka's specialt - Itoshima pork. The tender meat without a strong pork scent makes it great for a delicious hamburg steak. The great part about this meal set is how you can ask for three kaedama hamburg steaks for free. Kaedama is a cultural term used when asking for additional noodles for Hakata ramen in Fukuoka. At Meatland, they apply the kaedama culture for additional hamburg steaks. While even one steak is quite filling, you can order up to three additional hamburg steaks for a satisfying meal. Customers can pick from a variety of sauces - demi-glace, Japonais, teriyaki, Japanese-style and garlic soy sauce - to flavor the hamburg steaks.

In addition, you can ask for a kaedama also in the case of karaage fried chicken!

Francfranc is a shop known for their cute kitchenware and small household items. This Japanese shop is a staple shopping spot for many visitors to Japan.

The cooking scenes that can be seen here are amazing, giving one the feeling that they are watching an entertainment show!

We ordered their signature dish, the "Charcoal grilled Imari beef on an iron plate" (1,280 yen).

When we received the dish, we were surprised to see that the sliced meat was wrapped into a ball! The red meat of the Imari beef has its entire flavor trapped inside. The customer is the one who adds the finishing touch to the meat.

The meat is then grilled on top of a heated stone. The aroma of the roasted meat will whet your appetite. After cooking it to the right degree of tenderness, add some special sauce or ponzu vinegar and enjoy! This is a restaurant where you will surely have fun while enjoying your meal.
