About Arashiyama Hanatoro
Arashiyama Hanatoro is an event where famous Kyoto sightseeing spots such as Arashiyama and Saga are illuminated. It is an annual event that began in 2005 and takes place in the middle of December every year.
What we’d like you to experience is that magical atmosphere. Although Arashiyama and Saga are areas where you can enjoy both beautiful natural landscapes and cultural heritage, you are able to further experience the Japanese spirit with the illuminating of these two areas.
Please look for the shapes that mysteriously emerge when Togetsukyo Bridge and the Bamboo Forest Walkways, two symbols of Arashiyama, are illuminated.

The Light and Blossoms Pathway covers a total length of approximately 5km. All sorts of various light lanterns will be placed along the pathway and each lantern is lit at varying brightness settings.
You can enjoy a Japanese-like aesthetic and romantic atmosphere here, so it would be great to thoroughly enjoy the creations and beautiful scenery by yourself or visit the area on a date with friends or your significant other.
