The limited edition Krispy Kreme WACHA doughnuts and beverages celebrate Japanese tea in all its glory.
Krispy Kreme Japan has released Japanese tea flavored items to celebrate the traditional beverage. Time-limited beverages and doughnuts are part of WACHA. WACHA simply means "Japanese Tea".
The Citrus Green Tea Ring (230 yen) uses a matcha flavored doughnut as its base topped with lemon and yuzu flavored white chocolate glaze. The citrus-flavored glaze is accented with matcha infused white chocolate as well. An interesting mixture of sweet, bitter and sour.
The Uji Matcha Cream and Strawberry Doughnut (230 yen) is a delight for all senses. The matcha flavored doughnut is topped with matcha cream and decorated with white chocolate drizzles, strawberry chocolate shavings, and dried strawberries.
Hojicha, or roasted green tea, is used in the Hojicha Old Fashioned Doughnut (230 yen). The hojicha infused base is topped with white chocolate and almonds for a satisfying crunch.
The only matcha item introduced to the series from the regular line-up is the Uji Matcha Old Fashioned Doughnut (200 yen). A crispy green tea base is covered in creamy matcha white chocolate.
If you would like a refreshing drink that goes well with your doughnut, why not try the Uji Matcha Lemonade (360 yen). Yuzu and lemon syrup give the famous high-class green tea from Uji a refreshing twist.
The Krispy Frozen Hojicha and Brown Rice Latte(540 yen) is infused with brown rice puffs that give the beverage a popcorn-like flavor. The whipped cream topping is garnished with hojicha syrup as well as brown rice puffs.
The doughnuts will be available until the end of May, the lemonade until the beginning of June and the latte until mid-June 2019 at Krispy Kreme stores all around the country.
