Starbucks Lemon Yogurt Frappuccino and Green Apple Frozen With Shiso
The Starbucks Lemon Yogurt Fermentation Frappuccino and TEAVANA Frozen Tea Kaoru Green Tea with Green Apple are part of Starbucks Japan Wonder Project. This project Introduces delicious, unique and beneficial Japanese ingredients through Starbucks beverages.
In 2018, Starbucks started the "Japan Wonder Project". This project introduces unique, and often unknown, Japanese flavors in the form of Starbucks beverages.
Starbucks Lemon Yogurt Fermentation Frappuccino
The newest addition to the Japan Wonder Project will be the Starbucks Lemon Yogurt Hakko Frappuccino. Hakko means fermentation in Japanese. Fermented ingredients are said to help to fight the summer heat, so Starbucks decided to combine some of the best fermented ingredients in this one drink.
Yogurt, cream cheese and fermented rice in the form of Japanese amazake create the base of this new beverage. The amazake is meant to enhance the refreshing yogurt-cheese base in a unique way and add health benefits. The base is blended with a tart lemon sauce and freeze-dried cream cheese bits as well as cheese sable cookie crumbles.
This Starbucks beverage is surprisingly refreshing. It tastes like blended rare lemon cheesecake with added yogurt flavor. The cookies even add the kind of crunch that you would normally get from the cheesecake. It is the perfect refreshing dessert drink for the recent hotter days which is not too heavy or overly sweet.
The Starbucks Lemon Yogurt Fermentation Frappuccino is available from June 19th until July 18th, 2019 at all Starbucks stores Japan-wide. It will be only available in the tall size for 630 yen plus tax.

The tea base consists of fragrant sencha, powdered matcha, and refreshing peppermint. To this refreshing tea base is blended with a compote made with green apples and kabosu, a Japanese citrus fruit closely related to yuzu.
The overall flavor is uniquely enhanced with Japanese sansho pepper and shiso (green perilla). Shiso is often used to enhance Japanese summer beverages but usually in the form of red shiso.
This unique drink will be available from until August 29th, 2019, so you will be able to refresh yourself with it all summer!
