Hello Kitty and KAWAII MONSTER CAFE in Harajuku team up for a special cafe collaboration. Until September 1, 2019, guests at KAWAII MONSTER CAFE can experience Japan's kawaii culture and try rainbow-colored meals, sweets, and drinks inspired by Sanrio's popular feline character.

From July 12 to September 1, Hello Kitty and KAWAII MONSTER CAFE come together for a rainbow-filled, adorable cafe collaboration. This event features the special Mel-Tea Hello Kitty Room (above), where guests can enjoy drinks and desserts, a menu of Hello Kitty-themed food, dessert, and drink, and limited-edition gifts and souvenirs.

Nine special Hello Kitty options appear on the menu at KAWAII MONSTER CAFE. Diners can choose from savory meals, sweets, and beverages. Each item looks almost too cute too eat, decorated heavily with bright colors and Hello Kitty touches.


For lunch or dinner, guests can enjoy HELLO KITTY's Harajuku Rainbow Curry (1,580 yen before tax). The base is a mild white curry, decorated with bright colors and rainbow pasta bow-ties. In addition to curry, there are also two special hamburger options.

Kawaii Monster Cafe

For sweets, diners have many options. Pictured above is the HELLO KITTY with Sweets Go-Round Cake (1,480 yen before tax), an adorable, petite cake frosted and topped with a Hello Kitty cookie. Despite its colorful appearance, the cake is not too sweet.

Each order will come with a commemorative coaster with a limited-edition Hello Kitty and KAWAII MONSTER design on it (while supplies last).

After enjoying the special menu, visitors can also take home some of the cuteness. The collaboration features many Hello Kitty and KAWAII MONSTER CAFE items for purchase.

Like the cafe, Hello Kitty is decorated with vivid colors and rainbow designs. Mugs (980 yen before tax), collaboration keyrings (780 yen before tax), T-shirts (4,200 yen before tax), and other goods are for sale.

To use the Mel-Tea Hello Kitty Room, please alert a staff member when you arrive at the cafe. There is a 2-hour limit for using the room.

An English menu and Wi-Fi is available at the cafe.
