Pikachu At Sakuragicho And Minato Mirai Station - Gates Say Pika Pika
Already before the Pikachu Outbreak! 2019 the adorable yellow Pokemon takes over Sakuragicho and Minato Mirai Station in Yokohama. This means adorable station decorations and ticket gates that say Pika Pika instead of the usual sound.
To celebrate the Pikachu Outbreak! 2019 in Yokohama, two of the area's stations have gotten a Pikachu makeover.
The most obvious makeover can be seen at Sakuragicho station of the Negishi Line.
All the station signs are decorated with Pikachus and Eevees.
Even the signs that lead up to the trains overflow with cuteness.
The main entrance is decorated with adorable Pikachus as well. They happily wave to you as you enter or exit the station.
If you do visit the Sakuragicho station, make sure to drop in one of the New Days Convenience stores. They have a limited stock of Sakuragicho x Pikachu Goods including keychains and pens. They also released towels that are unfortunately already sold at all the New Days.
Limited edition anko filled snacks and fruit jellies decorated with the adorable yellow Pokemon are also available at Yokohama and Sakuragicho station.
A less obvious Pikachu invasion happened at Minato Mirai station of the Minato Mirai line. When you happen to exit here, follow Pikachus Footsteps.
The ticket gates with this Pikachu sign will not make the ordinary sound when you go through them. They actually say Pika, Pika Pika and Pikachu in the anime characters voice. Note that this only happens when you exit them, not if you enter.
If you want to see the Pikachu ticket gates in action make sure to check out this video!
All the special Pikachu installments will be removed after August 12th, 2019. This is when the Pikachu Outbreak! 2019 officially ends.
