Pocky Chocolate is one of Japans most popular snacks. The crispy pretzel sticks covered in chocolate exist in many different different flavors with some of the most popular being strawberry and matcha green tea.
For the 50th Anniversary of the brand, Pocky has decided to introduce their new "from JAPAN" line. This line will feature traditional flavors infused into the chocolate as well as the dough. The first two installments will be Kuromitsu (molasses) Kinako (roasted soybean flour) and Hakutou (white peach) and Ichigo (strawberry).
Pocky from JAPAN - Kuromitsu Kinako
Molasses and roasted soybean flour are a traditional combination often found in Japanese sweets.
Pocky Kuromitsu Kinko features molasses flavored pretzel covered by kinako infused white chocolate. The smoky molasses really brings out the roasted flavor of the soybean flour.
Pocky from JAPAN - Hakutou & Ichigo
While normally not served together, strawberry and peach are two of the most popular fruits in Japan. Strawberries usually are enjoyed in winter and early spring while white peach is a late summer fruit.
Pocky Hakutou & Ichigo put the two beloved flavors together. The white peach flavored chocolate covering the strawberry flavored pretzel creates a sweet late summer treat.
Pocky Kuromitsu Kinako and Hakutou & Ichigo will be available for a limited time from September 10th, 2019 and a pack of four packs with six Pocky each will retail for about 300 yen.
