KitKat Zunda Shake Inspired By Sendai's Famous Green Soybean Milkshake
The new Japanese premium Kitkat is inspired by Sendai's popular green soybean shake. This might sound unusual but don't worry! It is basically just another flavor variety of anko.
KitKat Japan's premium line usually includes popular Japanese alcoholic beverages such as plum wine and sake. For the new alcohol-free variety, KitKat has decided to go a rather unusual way of the popular zunda shake from Sendai.
Zunda is a sweetened green soybean, or edamame, paste usually used on top of mochi. Zunda is especially popular in Sendai. It is so popular in fact that Sendai offers many different zunda sweat treats. One of them is the zunda shake from the company Zunda Saryo which specializes in zunda flavored treats. The milkshake is known as must-try when traveling to the region.
Thanks to the new KitKat Zunda Shake Flavor this unique flavor can now be shared with friends and family who can't try it by themself. The wafer cream is infused with zunda powder while the chocolate delivers the vanilla milkshake flavor.
For now, KitKat Zunda Shake Flavor can only be purchased at Sedai Airport, around Sendai's major train station, and at local Kasho Sanzen stores. Nine mini KitKats retail for 800 yen plus tax.
