Up Kannabe is one of the closest resorts to these areas with real snow and runs enjoyable for visitors of all ages.
Up Kannabe Ski Resort 2019-2020 Season
Located in the Kannabe Highlands in Toyooka, Hyogo, Up Kannabe is a gorgeous resort with four ski runs suitable for all physical and experience levels, areas with snow rafting for children, and even hot air balloon rides.
In addition to its great access (around 2.5 - 3.5 hours from Kyoto and Osaka) and amenities, the resort is friendly to international visitors. Beginner ski lessons with English-speaking instructors are offered to international visitors (advanced reservation required), and ski sets and equipment are available to rent.
The ski season is scheduled to begin December 28, 2019, and snow will last until around March 2020. However, please note that the winter sports season may be delayed or shortened due to snow conditions.
The resort is also open until 21:30 for those wanting to night ski. The slopes at night provide fun for friend groups and those with a special someone.

Directions: from Hidaka (2.5 hours via direct bus from Osaka or 2 hours via direct bus from Kobe), get on the Zentan bus to Kannabe Kougen. Get off at Kannabe Onsen Yutorigi Mae after about 25-35 minutes. From Kyoto, take the Kinosaki Limited Express from JR Kyoto Station (bound for . Transfer to the Zentan bus at Ebara Station.
One-Day Lift Fee: 3,500 yen on weekdays, 4,500 yen on weekends and public holidays (adult price).
Equipment Rental Cost: A full set with ski or snowboard, and snow gear, is 6,000 yen (adults) or 5,000 yen (children)
