Wake Shrine (Wake Shrine)

The deities enshrined are the six ancestors of Wake Kiyomaro, Wake Hiromushi, Wake Kiyomaro and Emperor Ojin. The old company rank is prefectural company. It is popular as a shrine that enshrines Wake Kiyomaro, who was active in the Usa Hachiman Shrine Oracle Incident. In front of the shrine, there is a wild boar, which is rare even in Japan and it is said that this boar escorted Kiyomaro when he visited Usa Jingu Shrine, and guided him to a sacred spring when he suffered from a leg injury. It comes from the fact that it was considered to be the protector of Kiyomaro. Its divine virtues include protection of the feet and hips, health, warding off evil spirits, and warding off misfortune. It is also revered as a guardian deity for safe childbirth (childbirth),as it comes from Wake Hiromushi, who opened Japan's first orphanage. The series of shrine buildings, built in the early Meiji period using the skills of Oku carpenter Katsuyoshi Tabuchi, are designated cultural assets of Wake Town.
