Fukuda Art Museum Saga Arashiyama

Fukuda Art Museum is located in Saga-Arashiyama, a nature-rich area in Kyoto that has been loved by many nobles and intellectuals since ancient times and has been a source of inspiration for many excellent works of art. This area is currently a famous travel destination visited by people from all over the world. We hope that Arashiyama will become one of the world's leading cultural centers through our museum, which offers visitors a chance to enjoy masterpieces of Japanese art along with this beautiful nature.<br> The architecture of the Fukuda Art Museum draws on the essence of traditional Kyomachiya townhouses. It aims to be a new type of Japanese architecture that will become the standard for the next 100 years.<br> Fukuda Art Museum has a collection of approximately 1,800 works by famous Japanese painters from the Edo period (1603-1868) to the modern era. The concept of our art exhibitions is that "even those who are not familiar with art should be moved by it." In particular, we are focusing on the works of Kyoto art circles, including notable works that are revealed to the public for the first time and works that are rarely ever seen on public display. Our collection also includes works by famous Japanese painters such as Ito Jakuchu, Yokoyama Taikan, and Takehisa Yumeji. The works in our museum collection are not on permanent display and may be displayed depending on the content of our special exhibitions.
