Unzen Nita Pass

The mountain pass is in full bloom in the spring with azaleas, green in the summer, red leaves in the fall, and hoarfrost in the winter, making it a mecca for Unzen tourism throughout the year. A ropeway runs from Nita Pass to the summit of Mt. Myoken, forming an observation line for Nita and Myoken. A skyline with a total length of 11.3 kilometers leads to the pass, and the drive is extremely comfortable, passing through forests of cedar and cypress trees and enjoying the ocean beauty of the Ariake Sea and Tachibana Bay, as well as the view of the Kokonoe Mountain Range. Also, from the second observation point along the way, you can see Heisei Shinzan up close.
