Okayama Prefectural Museum

Okayama Prefecture, which was once called Kibi Province, has had a flourishing culture since ancient times, and many valuable cultural properties remain. A historical museum that collects and preserves cultural heritage from primitive and ancient times to modern times, passes it on to future generations, and exhibits representative items. The museum consists of four exhibition rooms, with exhibits on the theme of "History and Culture of Okayama Prefecture." We also have a collection and display of traditional crafts from Okayama Prefecture, such as swords and Bizen ware. On the 2nd and 4th Saturday of every month (excluding during special exhibitions, planned exhibitions, and exchange exhibitions), curators provide detailed and easy-to-understand explanations of the exhibition contents.
