Yoshii Onsen

Yoshii Onsen is located in the southeastern part of Fukuoka Prefecture, on the east side of the Chikugo Plain, within the Yaba Hita-Hikosan Quasi-National Park and the Chikugo River Prefectural Natural Park, and is blessed with a scenic natural environment and tourism resources. This hot spring was discovered in 1956, making use of the natural environment embraced by the majestic Mino mountain range and the leisurely flow of the Chikugo River, nicknamed "Jiro Chikushi". Recognized for the simplicity and effectiveness of the hot springs, it is a popular place for recreation and tourism throughout the four seasons. 　In the four seasons of Yoshii Onsen, you can enjoy the cherry blossoms of Nagano Mizu Shrine in spring, the Hina dolls tour that tells history, and the small museums in May, and the Chikugo River's famous cormorant fishing in the summer. In autumn, you can enjoy fruit sightseeing such as picking persimmons at the foot of Mt. Minou. During the feudal era, Yoshii Town prospered as a post town on the Bungo Highway, which ran from Kurume to Tenryo Hita. It has been selected as an Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings, attracting the attention of tourists from all over the prefecture and beyond, and is even called the Kurashiki of Kyushu. In this way, Yoshii Onsen offers the real pleasure of sightseeing, such as the townscape of white-walled storehouses, sightseeing in hot springs and fruit, and ancient tombs with hidden romance.
