Myoonin Temple

Myoonin Temple has 88 sacred stone statues representing the 88 sacred places in Shikoku. You can see all the stone statues in about 15 to 20 minutes by walking along the small mountain trail. The history of the walking path began about 125 years ago when an old nun wished to create a place far away where she could make a pilgrimage in Shikoku. Surrounded by nature while visiting the 88 stone statues in the mountains, you will feel spiritual and calm. Each of the 88 stone statues has a different meaning, such as wisdom, good fortune, or exorcism, and it's fun to walk while learning new things about it. You can also see the beauty of various flowers in each season. You can see cherry blossoms in spring, autumn leaves and ginkgo in autumn, and daffodils in winter.
