Hozanji Temple

Approximately 200 Jizo Bodhisattva statues are lined up along the approach to the Okunoin Main Hall and Kaisan-do Hall. The Shishikaku, completed in 1884 as a reception hall, is a Western-style building (a national important cultural property) built by palace carpenters and is a sight to behold as it blends Western and Japanese elements.
