The Yellow Hills of Inuyose Pass

In spring, the two-hectare hill at Inuyori Pass turns yellow with rape blossoms. Back in 2012, Matsuura, the manager of Yellow Hill, was thinking about how he could attract people to revitalize the local area. So he decided to cultivate an abandoned mandarin orange field and turn it into a flower garden. When he saw the rape blossoms already in bloom, he thought that they were the city flower, yellow flowers evoke images of happiness, and above all, yellow is eye-catching! So he planted a whole field of rape blossoms. It took two years to develop the Yellow Hill, and by the spring of 2015, the third year, it was filled with rape blossoms, and many people visit every year.
