Arashiyama

In Arashiyama, the trees change color beautifully in autumn, making the Bamboo Forest Path and Togetsukyo Bridge look gorgeous. You can enjoy the autumn leaves in a variety of ways, such as from the Sagano Torokko Train or viewing the colorful trees at the Sogenchi Garden of Tenryu-ji Temple, a World Heritage Site. Kyoto is very popular in autumn from both within Japan and overseas, but if you are worried about crowds, we recommend sightseeing early in the morning. Visiting early, especially just after the temples open, will allow you to enjoy sightseeing in relative peace and quiet.
