Minamisanriku Town Earthquake Reconstruction Memorial Park

Inori-no-Oka is home to the "Monument to Enshrine a List of People Who Victims of the Great East Japan Earthquake," and the "Reconstruction Prayer Terrace," which was built to pray for the recovery of the town. If you look closely, you can see that it is a two-tiered hill. This height is 16.5m above sea level, the average height of the tsunami that hit the urban area of ​​Shizugawa, Minamisanriku-cho. If you stand here, you will be able to see clearly that the disaster prevention office in front of your eyes was not at a safe height, and it is a spot where you can experience the horror of the tsunami. The disaster prevention government building is preserved in the park as it was at the time of the earthquake as an earthquake disaster remnant.
