Orchard Restaurant Matsukawa

0utdoor restaurant inside an orchard in Matsukawa-machi, Nagano Prefecture, a century-old fruit village surrounded by two ranges of the Japanese Alps. Here you can enjoy a course meal carefully prepared by a French chef while surrounded by fruit trees, with the Alps in the background. “Farm to Table” seemed too far away, so we decided to go for “Table to Farm.” We removed the roof and walls from the restaurant and placed the tables in the middle of the orchard. Orchard Restaurant opens for lunch and dinner each weekend. (Reservations are required in advance.) As it is held at a different farm every time, you can enjoy all kinds of different sceneries. All participants gather at the same time, enjoy a short guided walk of the orchard with the owner, make a toast with local hard cider, and enjoy a delicious course meal. All main ingredients such as meat and vegetables, as well as fruits, are produced in Matsukawa-machi and the greater Ina Valley area.
