Sandanbeki

A cliff about 50m high towers over the southern coast of Senjojiki. Said to originate from a place called "kendan" where fishermen used to keep an eye on passing boats and schools of fish, this huge rock wall stretches about 2km from north to south, and the dynamic sight of the Kuroshio Current crashing violently against the rock face makes you feel the power of nature. In April 2016, it was selected as a lovers' sanctuary, "Nanki Shirahama/Sandanbeki," and on this occasion a heart monument was installed near the Sandanbeki Observatory and the mailboxes were painted pink, creating an image that is perfect for a lovers' sanctuary.
