At Kumihimo Experience by DOMYO in the Japanese town of Kagurazaka, we hold kumihimo workshops where you can actually experience making kumihimo to further understand the charm of the craft of kumihimo. We have a variety of authentic courses available, using tools used in actual kumihimo making and 100% silk materials. While walking around the spacious store, you can see the historical kumihimo exhibits, get a feel for the 1,400 years of history of Japanese kumihimo, and then braid your own kumihimo using a tool called a marudai. The braided cords will be made into bracelets, smartphone straps, and other items, so please relax in the lounge while enjoying some matcha tea.
