Bakuchiiwa Rock(Ice Hill)

It is said that Makuchiiwa Rock in Yamadera got its name from the large hole in the rock that looks like a horse's mouth. In winter, huge bondaras (icicles) form around this rock, turning it into a large mass of ice and snow, which is why it is also called an “ice hill.” The area around Makuchiiwa is a trekking course, and the view from the observation rock is spectacular.
