Memorial to the filming of the movie “007 You Only Live Twice”

007's sacred place! Akime's unchanging charm attracts fans from all over the world. Did you know that a long time ago, the movie 007 was filmed in Akime, Botsu-cho, Minamisatsuma City? You Only Live Twice, released in 1967. The stage was Japan, and here in Akime, there were many notable members including Sean Connery, Tetsuro Tamba, and Mie Hama. Autumn is a sacred place for 007 enthusiasts, as the scenery remains unchanged from that time. Thanks to the efforts of local people, we received an English certificate and autograph from producer Albert R. Broccoli stating that ``You Only Live Twice was filmed here in Autumn,'' as well as stars Sean Connery and Tetsuro Tanba. A monument engraved with his signature was erected in 1990. The location is near the Ganjin Memorial Museum, which was built to honor the founder of the Japanese Ritsu sect, Ganjin Yamato, who landed in Bozu and his great achievements, and offers a panoramic view of the beautiful scenery of Akime Fishing Port.
