Suo Kokubunji Temple

Suo Kokubunji is the only temple in Japan that retains its grounds from the Tenpyo period and is designated as a national historic site as the ``Old Precincts of Suo Kokubunji''.It has over 100 temples, including the important cultural property Kondo, a seated statue of Yakushi Nyorai, Nikko and Gekko Bosatsu, and standing statues of the Four Heavenly Kings. Existing statues of the Buddha, 200 paintings, 1,500 documents, and 8,500 scriptures.
