Inoue Park

This park was built on the site of the birthplace of Kaoru Inoue, a veteran of the Meiji era. This place also served as the lodging for the seven feudal lords, including Sanetomi Sanjo, who fled the capital due to the political upheavals in Kyoto at the end of the Edo period. Inside the park, there is a bronze statue of Kaoru Inoue, ``Ken-tei'' which was built as a replica of the building where Sanemi used to live, a temporary monument with a line from the poem ``Kikyou'' by Chuya Nakahara, a poet born in Yuda Onsen, and a temporary monument. There is a haiku monument written by Santouka Taneda, a haiku poet who lived in Yuda Onsen, and you can feel the history of Yuda Onsen.
