Special exhibition "Retro, Romantic, Modern, Girls' Life"

The special exhibition "Retro, Romantic, Modern, Maiden Life" currently being held at the Osaka Museum of Living Past and Present is an exhibition on the theme of the changes in women's lives from the Meiji to Showa eras. It will be held from July 13 to October 14, 2024, and you can explore the lifestyles and aesthetic sense of women at that time. This exhibition mainly displays the collection of Hiroaki Sano, a researcher of modern commercial design, and displays packages of cosmetics, medicines, and other household goods from around the Taisho era, as well as magazines and product advertisements. In particular, cosmetics (lotion, cream, perfume, powder), toiletries (soap, washing powder, toothpaste), household goods (medicine, beverages, sweets, matches, textile labels, postcards, magazines, fans), etc. are on display, allowing you to get a glimpse of how women lived at that time.
