Nada Fighting Festival

Nada's Fighting Festival is a traditional festival that has been going on for a long time and is a very important event for the local people. The festival takes place over two days, Yoimiya (October 14th) and Honmiya (October 15th), when floats from each district gather at Matsubara Hachiman Shrine and the mikoshi and floats are paraded together.² In particular, the "Fighting Mikoshi" event, in which the mikoshis are smashed into each other, attracts many spectators as the highlight of the festival. The parade of mikoshis and floats gives a sense of the enthusiasm and unity of the local people, and the spectators can share that sense of unity. The festival's gorgeous decorations and costumes are also one of the highlights, and there are many photogenic scenes.
