Chasuriyama Kofun Park and Chasuriyama Kofun Learning Center

Chasuriyama Kofun is a large circular tomb from the early 5th century, located at the tip of a ridge at an altitude of about 144m on the way to Hoju Pass, which runs from Wadayama to Santo. It is one of the tombs of the king who ruled Tajima, and is a circular tomb with a diameter of 90m built in the first half of the 5th century, and has been designated a national historic site. A large number of weapons and armor have been excavated from the coffin at the top, giving a sense of the king's power. It is one of the largest circular tombs in the Kinki region. It is a circular tomb with a diameter of about 90m and a height of about 18m, and it has been confirmed to be the tomb of a chief who had strong ties to the central government (Yamato government). At the entrance, there is the Chasuriyama Kofun Learning Center, which is free to enter. Inside the learning center, you can watch videos and panels explaining the Chasuriyama Kofun, and pamphlets are also available.
