Kaiunbashi

Kaiun Bridge is a white bridge that symbolizes Morioka and connects Morioka Station and the city center, which are separated by the Kitakami River. Everyone who visits Morioka must cross this bridge at least once, making it an important landmark in Morioka. This bridge also has another name, ``Twice Crying Bridge''. The origin of this name is that while people who transferred to Morioka would cross the bridge crying due to the ``loneliness of coming to a far away place,'' they would come into contact with the warmth of the people of Morioka through their lives here, and when they leave, they would ``give away.'' It comes from crossing this bridge while shedding tears again thinking, "I don't want to."
