Special Exhibition: Snuffboxes: Small containers that fascinated people

The special exhibition "Snuff Boxes: A Small, Enchanting Container" at the Tobacco and Salt Museum introduces the history of snuff and art and crafts. Snuff, which is enjoyed by inhaling powdered tobacco leaves directly into the nose, originated as a custom among Native Americans. After the Age of Discovery, it spread to Europe and Asian countries, and unique cultures developed in France and China in particular. This exhibition introduces the history of snuff through documents, prints, and reference illustrations, and displays snuff boxes from around the world, including European snuff boxes and snuff bottles, and Chinese snuff bottles. You can enjoy the diverse charms of snuff through approximately 280 pieces. Advance reservations are required since there is a capacity limit.
