Zenringai (Zen Temple Area)

Zenrin-gai is a historic street in Hirosaki City, Aomori Prefecture, which is lined with a group of temples built by the Tsugaru clan about 400 years ago. This street is home to 33 temples, making it known as the "Town of Temples." Zenrinmachi is said to have been established to protect Hirosaki Castle's Demon Gate, and was laid out based on the philosophy of feng shui. Here, the seasonal nature and historical architecture harmonize, and many tourists visit here, especially during the cherry blossom season and the autumn leaves season.
