This Joeiji Temple was built approximately 500 years ago as a villa by Masahiro Ouchi, and it is said that the garden was commissioned by Sesshu to build it. Sesshu Garden was designated as a historic site and a place of scenic beauty by the country in 1923 as a masterpiece of Japanese gardens full of Zen taste.
