Kibiji Bicycle Path

The Kibiji Cycling Road is a scenic 25km long cycling road that has been selected as one of the "100 Best Roads in Japan". It is mostly flat, with a few slight undulations. Historical sites representative of Okayama Prefecture, such as Bitchukokubunji Temple, Tsukuriyama Kibitsu-jinja Shrine, are scattered here and there. The most enjoyable thing about this cycling road is seeing the rural areas, such as rice fields and local houses, and interacting with the residents and people working in the fields along the way. It is worth spending a whole day here if you have the time, as it is a completely different experience from other touristy castles and temples. There are delicious bakeries and local produce shops in the area, so don't forget to pick up lunch if you find one.
