Takayamasha Information Center

Takayamasha Information Center was constructed in 2015 as the core facility of the World Heritage Takayamasha Ruins Exchange Center, and opened on April 8, 2016. Takayamasha Information Center is located in a place where you can stop by on the way to the World Heritage Takayamasha Ruins. It displays panels about the Takayamasha Sericulture School, the branch school, and sericulture teachers, as well as sericulture tools and donated materials, and introduces the sericulture industry of Takayamasha and Fujioka, which once led the Japanese sericulture industry. The center also sells original Takayamasha goods and souvenirs, and you can experience cocoon crafts. The Fujioka Bamboo Festival is held in June, and you can enjoy the mysterious world of lit bamboo lanterns. Fujibakama is planted in the flower bed in front of the Takayamasha Information Center, and the only migratory butterfly in Japan, the Monarch butterfly, arrives around October.
