Sakurayama Hachiman Shrine

Sakurayama Hachimangu Shrine has a majestic atmosphere. It is very famous as the venue for the annual Takayama Festival (Hachiman Festival) in autumn, and is crowded with many worshipers. The shrine grounds include Akiba Shrine, the god of fire protection, Tenma Shrine, which is dedicated to Sugawara no Michizane, Inari Shrine, the god of fertility, business prosperity, sericulture, and various industries, and Kotohira Shrine, the god of maritime traffic safety. There are subsidiary shrines such as Teruzaki Shrine, which enshrines the god of valor and the god of teeth, and you can leisurely visit them while strolling around.
