Tanba Sasayama is about an hour away from Kyoto, Osaka, and Kobe. Known as a "treasure trove of ingredients," it is rich in ingredients grown in the rich natural environment, such as Tanba black soybeans, Tanba chestnuts, and Tanba Sasayama beef. In addition, "Botan nabe," a local dish made with wild boar, is a famous Tanba Sasayama specialty. Strolling through the beautiful streets of Kawaramachi and Fukuzumi districts, designated as important national preservation districts for groups of traditional buildings, will make you feel like you've traveled back in time. A tour of the 850-year-old Tanba ware town is also popular!

There are roughly three tourist spots in Tamba Sasayama. The "Castle Town Area" is a place where you can enjoy shopping and the old townscape centered around the ruins of Sasayama Castle. The "Tamba-yaki Area" is a place where you can find not only traditional but also stylish and cute pottery. The "Fukusumi Area" faces Kyoto and Osaka and has beautiful farming villages and post towns. Each area is full of things to see, so we recommend taking half a day to a full day to enjoy each one. Also, since each area is far from each other, the best way to get around is by rental car or private car. If you are coming by public transportation, we will check the route for you, so please consult us in advance. In addition to the three areas above, there are stylish shops, galleries, restaurants, etc. scattered all over the city. Please try to find your favorite shop. We will propose a model course that matches your interests and wishes, such as old-style cafes, restaurants, local products, art, crafts, history, and culture. Please consult us when you check in or make a reservation. For best peace of mind, it's a good idea to make reservations in advance for popular restaurants and pottery experiences!
