Kusatsu washi paper was born from the rich nature of Omi and the beautiful water of Lake Biwa. Each piece is carefully made by hand using gampi, which has a long history of luster and warmth. Kusatsu washi is a washi that expresses the region, and is made into a gentle washi that incorporates nature such as Kusatsu's flowers (Aobana) and Lake Biwa's (reeds).
