Minoh Falls

This famous waterfall, with a drop of 33 meters, has been selected as one of the "Top 100 Waterfalls in Japan" and "Top 100 Views in Japan." The name "Minoh" is said to have originated from the fact that the rising water mist resembles a farm tool called a "winnowing basket." The amount of water from the waterfall varies greatly depending on the season and the amount of water. During the rainy season and heavy rains in summer, the roar resonates throughout your body, and the waterfall's flow, which seems to fall from the sky, makes you forget the passage of time. On sunny days in spring, early summer, and autumn, the waterfall, along with the clear stream of the riverside promenade to the waterfall, shows the elegant appearance of a utamakura. It is said that "En-no-Gyoja" met the dragon god during his training, and there is a dragon hole at the mouth of the waterfall (where the water falls). The area around the waterfall, which was also visited by Oda Nobunaga and Matsuo Basho, is a superb power spot with a spectacular view, and is very popular as a cool spot in the summer. Special lighting is often held at night, creating a fantastic world view.
