Meiji Restoration Centenary Park

The Meiji Restoration Centenary Park is one of 10 urban parks designated by the government nationwide to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Meiji era, and is an open space for interaction and intimacy. It is a hub of sports culture, including an athletics stadium, gymnasium, and outdoor music hall that was renovated for the 2011 "Come! Yamaguchi National Athletic Meet (National Sports Festival for People with Disabilities)." Many flower lovers visit the ``Monumental Tower Flowerbed'' and ``Sunken Flowerbed'' in the garden, which are decorated with seasonal flowers. In addition, the plaza with the ``Confucius Anodan Lecture Statue'' (confucius lecturing to five disciples), which was a gift from China's Shandong Province, which has friendly relations with Yamaguchi Prefecture, is ideal for a sketching competition. You can also see swans and migratory birds up close at the Boat Pond.
