hot spring shrine

There are shrines called Onsen Shrines all over the Shimabara Peninsula. In particular, Yamada-kami in Azuma-cho, Unzen City, Sengoku-kami-kami in Chijikoku-cho, Arie-kami in Arie-cho, Minamishimabara City, and Isahaya-jin in Isahaya City are said to have been built as branch shrines of the hot spring shrine on Mt. Unzen. I am. Since four shrines were built around Mt. Unzen, they are referred to as ``Onsen Shimen God'' or ``Onsen Shimen Daimyojin,'' and locally called ``Oshimen-san.'' It is said that there were 18 hot spring shrines on the Shimabara Peninsula, and these shrines were familiar to the people. The headquarters of these hot spring shrines is the hot spring shrine located in the Unzen hot spring town.
