Goshiki-ga-hara Forest at the Foothills of Mt. Norikura

Located at the southern end of Chūbu-Sangaku National Park, Goshikigahara Forest covers approximately 3,000 hectares and is a vast woodland area. The vegetation ranges from montane to subalpine zones, featuring deciduous broadleaf trees such as beech, mizunara (oak), and Japanese walnut, as well as coniferous trees like fir, Abies mariesii, and hemlock. The area is also home to rare alpine wildflowers. Numerous streams, waterfalls, ponds, and wetlands can be found within the forest, along with a rich variety of wildlife, including birds and insects. Visitors can enjoy the changing beauty of the forest throughout the four seasons.
