Ashizuri Port

This port is located in the Yoro district on the west side of Tosashimizu city. Until the early 2000s, ferries operated as a passenger port. Nowadays, there are no regular sailing routes, and it is a calm spot that has been developed as a park. The grounds include the John Manjiro Museum and other museums. There is a dynamic statue of John Manjiro as a young boy. There is also a park with a panoramic view of the city of Tosashimizu, and an observation tower with a view of the majestic Pacific Ocean. Although the playground equipment has been removed, there is also a large lawn area. What is noteworthy is that it is a spot where you can casually enjoy serious fishing. During the season, many anglers visit from outside the city.
