Iya no Kazurabashi

A Kazurabashi (Vine Bridge) is a primitive suspension bridge made from kudzu plants such as the wild quince (Shirakuchikazura). The most famous one is in Zentoku, Nishiiyayamamura, Miyoshi City, Tokushima Prefecture. There are two more bridges further inland, in Sugo, Higashiiya, the same city. There is also one in Ikeda Town, Imadate County, Fukui Prefecture, built for tourism purposes with the cooperation of craftsmen from Higashiiya, and all of these bridges are for people only.
