Tokushima prefecture lies on the eastern side of Shikoku, and is connected to Honshu via a massive bridge. Within Tokushima you will find the majority of the 88 Buddhist temples that make up a famous pilgrimage route, as well as amazing rural areas where you can experience Japanese farm life, and the naruto - great swirling whirlpools in the Seto Inland Sea.
Tokushima is also home to the Awa Odori, a summer festival that spread across Japan, but the largest of which is held here annually.
