Aichi Prefecture is located in central Japan, in the Chubu region. The capital city, Nagoya, is the third largest city in Japan, while the city of Toyota is home to the automobile manufacturer of the same name.
Aichi has a rich and diverse cultural heritage, with two of its most famous points being Nagoya Castle and its golden shachihoko (golden dolphins), and the dish hitsumabushi, which is grilled eel served on rice and eaten in three different ways.
Nagoya is a great mix of the cultures representative of both Kanto and Kansai areas, and a fun, exciting place to visit all year round!
