Umerigama is the only kiln that continues to produce 100% natural fired works such as "Kogane-yaki" and "Ash-covered" in a wood-fired kiln called anagama, using cedar, the traditional raw material of Otani ware. In addition to the anagama, we also use four other types of kiln: electric kilns, gas kilns, and charcoal kilns, and work hard every day to create works that take advantage of the characteristics of each kiln. Carrying on tradition, we continue to produce pottery that is simple yet combines the warmth of the earth, beauty, and functionality.
